2011 Chickasaw National Recreation Area Quarter released by U.S. Mint

The 10th issue and final 2011 design of the America’s National Park Quarter Series, featuring Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Oklahoma, was released on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at a special ceremony in the recreation area’s Flower Park. The popular 2010-2021 quarter series is honoring a national park or historic site in each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the 5 U.S. territories.

Following the release ceremony, attendees could exchange cash for rolls of the new quarters – which depict Chickasaw’s Lincoln Bridge on the reverse. The beautiful limestone bridge was dedicated in 1909 to honor the centennial of Abraham Lincoln’s birth. The obverse bears a smaller restored version of the George Washington portrait introduced on U.S. quarters in 1932. Add the new 2011 Chickasaw quarters to your collection.
